At osar, contrast became part of the character.

Raw finishes create a strong, understated foundation, softened by the warmth and texture of reclaimed brick. Against this backdrop, a bold touch of turquoise introduces an unexpected layer of colour and personality.

Combined with the recurring curves throughout the interior, every material and colour choice contributes to the same idea: balancing boldness with refinement.

We're moving into a building with real character: the former Excelsior button factory in Pittem.
Raw, authentic, and truly full of potential.

Excelsior. Latin for โ€œever upwardโ€ and a motto for continuous improvement.

A name that once stood for craftsmanship, and now reflects exactly what we stand for: always striving higher and pushing our designs further.

This will become our new concept studio and the home of our founder Mathias. A full renovation, with deep respect for the heritage of the building.

With the main window positioned at the front of the house, privacy became an important consideration. Rather than blocking the light, an architectural screen was introduced, filtering views while allowing daylight to shape the interior throughout the day.

The result is a subtle interplay of light, shadow and texture, creating a fitting backdrop for a home where contemporary architecture meets art, antiques and personal history.

Some of the most important work happens long before the final materials are installed. Long before the space takes shape.

We have great respect for craftsmen who take pride in every stage of the process, even the parts that will eventually disappear beneath a floor or behind a wall. Because true craftsmanship isn't measured by what remains visible, but by the care and dedication invested in every detail.
