“The Heat Is On” — that song title feels especially literal this summer. ☀️

As of 2026, 1,647 fires have been recorded in Europe — almost as many as the worst year on record: 1,735 fires last year.

For building owners in regions with an elevated risk of wildfires, it is more important than ever to consider the fire performance of exterior materials at the design stage.

The Metrotile lightweight roofing system has an A rating under EN 13501-1 — the highest category in the European classification of a material’s reaction to fire. This means that the roofing material has a minimal contribution to fire spread and is not classified as a highly combustible material. However, bear in mind that it doesn’t reflect the fire resistance of the entire roofing assembly, which is impacted by other components.

So, when the heat is on, choose a roofing material that keeps the risk low: https://metrotile.eu

Remember WALL·E? Humanity fled Earth, leaving behind a planet-sized landfill. 🍃

The key driver of this dystopian future is the construction industry — today, the sector generates more than a third of all waste in the EU.

So, if we do not want to move closer to WALL·E’s worst-case scenario, it is vital to evaluate building materials by more than just their appearance or cost. We need to consider how long they will last and what happens to them after they are dismantled.

In roofing, steel is one of the materials that can make a difference. It’s the foundation of our stone-coated lightweight metal roof. Metrotile’s corrosion-resistant steel is designed for a long service life, and once the roof reaches the end of its lifecycle, it can be recycled — without losing its essential properties. ✅

€9,000 for a roof — but not even a new one. Not much of a deal, is it? 😄

According to the UK Met Office, that’s how much it costs to remove an old 150 m² roof and the roof substructure in Germany. And that’s just the preparation stage, the new roofing and installation still have to be paid for.

This is where Metrotile’s lightweight metal roof offers a different, more cost-effective approach to renovation. For systems with concealed fixings, in some cases, a new roof can be installed directly over the existing roofing just using new battens. This eliminates the need to remove everything and so reduces the scope of work, saving both time and money. 😍

Of course, this option depends on the condition and construction of the existing roof, as well as the specific project requirements, and should always be assessed by a professional.

Ready to pay a five-figure sum for a “hidden” result? No need to when you have Metrotile: https://metrotile.eu

Hail and rain have a bad reputation among homeowners. They are usually the first to be blamed when a roof starts leaking. But according to Ghent University in Belgium, the real culprit is often roof ventilation pe*******on.

Traditional roof vents require additional pe*******ons through the roof structure, and every such intervention can potentially increase the risk of leaks and reduce the long-term durability of the roofing system. This makes them the most vulnerable points of a roof when it comes to weathertightness.

Metrotile’s ventilation components are designed as an integral part of the roofing system rather than as a separate accessory. That means they provide a weathertight connection without the need for improvised on-site solutions while preserving the roof's clean, seamless appearance.

Bad weather doesn't create weak points; it simply reveals them. Choose a roofing system that's ready for that test every single day: https://metrotile.eu.

When you hear the word “Europe,” what comes to mind? Croissants, the snowy Alps, or the crystalline waters of the Mediterranean? 🇪🇺 Probably not earthquakes.

Yet, according to the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, around a quarter of Europe's population lives in areas exposed to seismic risk. During an earthquake, a building is subjected to inertial forces, so the lighter its structural components, the lower the load generated during ground movement.

Each Metrotile panel is up to 7 times lighter than traditional roofing materials. A lighter roof reduces the load on the building's supporting structure and lowers its seismic mass, helping to improve overall structural performance during an earthquake. In simple terms, if an earthquake has weakened a building's walls, a lighter roof reduces strain on the structure, reducing the risk of collapse.

When your roof is designed for real-world conditions, you can spend less time worrying — and more time enjoying apéros, sunbathing, hiking, and everything else you love: https://metrotile.eu

✅ France
✅ Portugal
✅ Spain
✅ Greece

These countries are top holiday destinations for a short break in the sun. This year, however, they are also on the list of countries hardest hit by large-scale wildfires. In 2026, the number of wildfires has already exceeded the long-term average by over twofold. These changes are affecting not only the climate but also the way buildings are designed.

That's why Metrotile ensures the Bond roofing system achieves the highest Class A fire rating. This rating demonstrates that the roofing system can withstand external fire exposure (including wind-blown burning embers, wind, and radiant heat) and has passed fire spread testing in accordance with EU standards.

The climate has already changed the rules; even the most idyllic places now face extreme, life-endangering conditions. Is your roof ready for them?

Every night, you sleep under the protection of something you rarely think about — your roof.

That might sound less romantic than a fairytale love story, but the principle is the same: the things that protect us every day should be chosen with care and backed by facts (and, in the roof’s case, thorough testing).

Thanks to its 8-point horizontal fastening system, wind loads are distributed evenly across the panels, ensuring they remain securely fixed even in wind speeds of up to 190 km/h.

Because when nature puts strength to the test, it's not emotions or promises that matter; it's performance. And Metrotile is guaranteed to perform.

European summers have become twice as expensive. And we're not talking about holidays. ☀️

According to Eurostat, energy consumption for cooling homes across the EU has doubled over the past six years. Hotter summers mean one thing: fans spinning all day and night, air conditioning systems being installed, and electricity bills continuing to rise.

Metrotile roofing systems are installed using cold roof technology. Thanks to the above-sheathing ventilation system, air continuously circulates between the roof covering and the roof structure. This helps keep the roof cooler, reducing heat transfer into the building. When combined with high-quality insulation, it can reduce air conditioning demand by up to 30%, even when temperatures soar in the summer.

Summer already comes with enough reasons to spend money. Let the extra costs be part of your holiday memories — not your electricity bills: https://metrotile.eu

An itinerary no traveller would ever book (apart from Phileas Fogg). 🌍

More than 80 countries. No all-inclusive. Just:
🇺🇸 Hurricane-force winds in the US
🇳🇿 Earthquakes in New Zealand
🇮🇹 Hot sirocco winds in Italy
🧊 Powerful hailstorms in Hailstorm Alley

But Metrotile's lightweight stone-coated roofing didn't set off on this global journey for a holiday. Every country was another test of its performance — dealing with high winds, heavy rain, extreme heat, coastal salt air, and rapidly changing weather conditions. Today, Metrotile roofs protect homes in over 80 countries worldwide, with their quality proven not only by rigorous manufacturing standards but by the millions of square metres of roofing that are withstanding the most intense climates.

Metrotile's passport already has more than 80 stamps — and each one represents decades of proven performance. Your home could be the next stop on that journey: https://metrotile.eu

A roof replacement changes how an entire property feels.

This photo from Germany showcases XBOND ACO Matt Antracite, which transformed this home into a clean, timeless property. The deep matte finish brings modern character while perfectly complementing the natural wood elements and surrounding wooded landscape.

Even the smallest details matter, such as Aquapan to protect the wood, ensuring long-term durability alongside the aesthetic upgrade.

It’s a clear example of how performance and design can work seamlessly together.
