In automne of 2025, together with architect Laurent Peirera, we had the opportunity to participate in a competition focused on the revitalization of a village center.

The first phase of the project proposed the rehabilitation and development of a collective housing center for elderly residents, creating a place centered on care, community, and quality.

A new bold and monolithic building was designed to host both non-profit organizations and engineering offices of the village. This new construction respect the urban codes and architectural language of the south of belgiums more rural regions.

Although our proposal was not selected as the winning project, the jury particularly appreciated our approach to reappropriating the abandoned former hotel and transforming it into a new and meaningful use for the village.

The first two floors now create a fresh connection between interior and garden, culminating in a 20th-century-inspired extension. The back facade will be reworked to blend classic elegance with modern stylish materials.

New Project Reveal — PLS 02

A new chapter begins with PLS 02 — a complete renovation and transformation of a historic urban building into a dynamic mixed-use development.

The project respects the city’s architectural memory by preserving the front façade, while reimagining the rear with a modern identity. A revitalized ground floor will house a contemporary commercial space, while the upper levels will be transformed into three upscale apartments, each offering private outdoor space and views into a new lush green core.

By integrating a vertical green façade, this project brings a fresh microclimate and a calm inner landscape to the heart of Brussels — blending heritage with sustainable innovation.

This transformation of a flemish villa, is all about achieving a balance between minimalist modernity and classic elegance.

The main house, typical of rural and residential Flemish buildings, symbol of the Belgian architectural heritage, paired with sloping roofs, reflects the vernacular style of the region, honouring local history.

The extension, by contrast, draws inspiration from Japanese architectural principles with its clean lines and minimalist structure. The large exposed framework and expansive glass windows evoke a Zen aesthetic, where the interior blends seamlessly with the surrounding nature. The wood pergola above the glass façade brings to mind Japanese torii gates, symbolizing a transition between two worlds—here, between the traditional house and the open natural space outside.

There is a strong focus on establishing a fluid relationship with nature.
Large windows open the living area to the garden, enhancing the dialogue between natural materials like stone and wood and the carefully landscaped surroundings. This project skillfully marries Flemish heritage while creating a modern extension that respects the past while looking towards a sustainable future in harmony with the environment.

When a family asks to reimagine their rural farmhouse into a cozy modern home, with two new bedrooms, with a new view and relationship with the garden.

The zinc clad extension, permits to give a little more space, where it is necessary in the living area on the ground floor,
And add a whole new bathroom is what to is become the parents’ bedroom above ( in the existing attic space).

Wooden structure permits to reduce costs and time spent to that the family can cut down on the timing of an otherwise traditional long renovation process

When we renovate a high-end apartment on the epic avenue Louise, we worked

With high end finishing and kept the essence and authenticity of the setting and the 7à’s building. Working on respecting the composition lines, introducing transparent metal doors, renovating existing fireplace and creating an invisible door, to permit an easier circulation between day and nighttime sections of the apartment.

Integrating into the existing structure while highlighting authenticity...

Here is a custom staircase we designed. BE-Architecture has always been a firm that draws its originality and authenticity from a symbiotic relationship with the context and the existing architecture. The context shapes and sculpts the architectural relationships, influencing spatiality, design, and light.

It's been a little while since BE-Architecture has shared updates on its ongoing construction projects... Of course, the projects are progressing, so here's an opportunity to share the advancement of the MP80 project.

The structural work has been partially completed, and the volumes are starting to take shape. Their layout and relationships allow us to envision the future spaces. The window openings have also been done, giving us an idea of the future framed views.

We’re excited to see the next steps and to be able to share them with you!
