Binnen Crafting Futures lanceren we de eerste grootschalige survey die de beleving van makers in Vlaanderen en Brussel in kaart brengt. Met deze bevraging willen we een beter inzicht krijgen in de leefwereld van makers in de breedste zin van het woord: hoe zij hun praktijk organiseren, welke betekenis het creatieve proces voor hen heeft, en met welke uitdagingen zij geconfronteerd worden. Met deze inzichten werken we aan gerichte beleidsaanbevelingen en ondersteuning op maat van makers.

This Herman Miller Eames Lounge 670 came into the workshop with a broken shock mount on the armrest, which had also caused the plywood to crack.
We restored the damaged section, rebuilt the structure, and installed new shock mounts to bring the armrest back to its original strength and function.

A precise repair for an iconic design, ready for decades of use again.

A European woodworking and upholstery expert, Clint Van Hoorebeeck, says he is impressed with quality products that Malawian carpenters are producing despite limited upholstery education and little international exposure.

Van Hoorebeeck told Zodiak Online today, that the talent and creativity for Malawian carpenters is amazing, and they have a potential to shake the global furniture industry if given better tools.

Hoorebeeck is in the country to train Fadeth employees on advanced finishing, joinery and quality control.

Managing Director of Fadeth Furnishers, Richard Chirwa, said they want Malawian furniture industry to stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in the world, hence the decision to bring experts to train their employees to start producing international standard products.
