BHIC26 DAY 5 SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT

We are pleased to welcome Oreeditse Jakoba Moje, Senior Standards Scientist at the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS), as a Day 5 Speaker at the Botswana H**p Impact Conference 2026.

Oreeditse specialises in developing national, regional and international standards across the Food and Agriculture sector. His expertise includes standardisation, analytical testing, quality assurance and regulatory alignment.

He also represents BOBS in international and continental standardisation work through ISO/TC 34 (Food Products) and technical committees of the African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO).

🌿 BHIC26 FACILITATOR ANNOUNCEMENT | THULANI NKOMO

The Botswana H**p Impact Conference 2026 is pleased to welcome Thulani Nkomo as the facilitator for Industrial H**p Cultivation and Agronomy.

Thulani is an agronomist, h**p farmer, and the Founder and Director of Ukumilawethu Group, an integrated cannabis and h**p enterprise supporting small- and large-scale farmers.

He has cultivated h**p for the past five years on his farm in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. In addition to h**p production, Thulani facilitates the importation of seed varieties from international sources, including Europe, Canada, China and the United States of America.

Over the past few years, he has expanded Ukumilawethu into an aggregation enterprise with access to more than 20 off-takers worldwide. Ukumilawethu is also the largest h**p CBD off-taker within the Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency H**p Programme.

His practical farming experience, agronomic knowledge, international seed-sourcing network and access to global markets will bring valuable industry insight to the Industrial H**p Cultivation and Agronomy masterclass.

🌿 BHIC26 CO-FACILITATOR ANNOUNCEMENT

We are pleased to welcome Kutlo M. Simane as the Day 1 afternoon co-facilitator for Regulatory and Compliance Foundations at the Botswana H**p Impact Conference 2026.

Kutlo is a criminologist, emerging legal professional and public speaker with a background in Criminal Justice Studies, criminology, forensic practice, media and law. His interests centre on crime prevention, forensic science, public safety, organised crime, and the relationship between law, policy and justice.

He gained practical exposure to criminal and civil proceedings through his previous placement at the Botswana Court of Appeal. Kutlo also has experience in forensic document examination, anti-money laundering, fraud awareness, compliance and investigative research.

As a speaker, radio host, moderator, MC and youth advocate, he uses communication and public engagement to make complex issues accessible and inspire meaningful conversations around crime, justice, governance, youth development and social change.

Kutlo’s multidisciplinary background brings an important perspective to the Regulatory and Compliance Foundations session—connecting compliance with crime prevention, public safety, governance, investigative practice and the responsible development of emerging industries.

We are honoured to introduce Mr Patrick P**e Ralotsia as the Event Patron of the Botswana H**p Impact Conference.

A respected farmer, educator and public servant, Mr Ralotsia is a former Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, former School Head and Senior Inspector of Schools, as well as former Councillor and Chairman of the Kanye Administrative Authority.

He brings extensive leadership experience, institutional knowledge and practical agricultural insight to BHIC26. Importantly, he is also recognised as one of the pioneering figures who helped advance Botswana’s national conversation on industrial h**p and its development potential.

Ntandoyakhe Zimbili Mhlanga is an admitted attorney and the Managing Partner of Mhlanga Legal in Gaborone, Botswana. With over 15 years of legal experience, she advises and represents individuals, businesses and organisations in corporate and commercial law, labour law, family law, contract drafting, dispute resolution and general litigation. She is also actively involved in providing legal and regulatory advisory services and facilitating professional training on a broad range of legal, governance and compliance matters. Ntandoyakhe holds an LLB and a Diploma in Human Rights (cum laude) from North-West University and is committed to delivering practical, accessible and solution-driven legal guidance.
