🔨 From the studs to the finished space.

The Ascott project was a true transformation from beginning to end.

This basement started as an unusable space, and once everything was opened up, there was plenty of work behind the walls. We repaired damaged floor joists, added structure to accommodate a point load, completed framing, insulation and vapour barrier, repaired water piping and reworked the ducting — all while preparing the space for the electrical rough-in and a 200-amp electrical upgrade.

From there, the space was rebuilt and finished with new flooring, walls and finishing details throughout.

What started as a damaged, unfinished space is now a fully functional, finished part of the home.

🌧️ Before the Rain Comes…

Earlier this summer, we shared a look at a water-damaged home in Abbotsford — and what started as a repair turned out to be a much bigger problem hiding behind the siding.

Now, the work is officially complete.

Improperly sloped internal gutters, along with poorly placed downspouts and drains, had been directing water where it absolutely shouldn’t go. Over time, that led to rot, carpenter ants and extensive structural damage behind the siding.

The damaged structure was repaired, but just as importantly, we addressed the source of the problem.

Two layers of shingles were removed so the built-in gutter system could be completely replaced, along with the drains and downspouts — giving the home a proper path for all that Fraser Valley rainwater to go.

Because here in the Valley, fall is coming. 🌧️

And this is exactly why regular home maintenance matters. Small drainage issues can quietly turn into major repairs if water is allowed to find its way into places it shouldn’t.

A little prevention before the rain starts can go a long way.
