Scott and Stewart Forestry

Scott and Stewart Forestry A full service forestry consulting and contracting serving Atlantic Canada. Our Mission is to be the landowner’s first choice in forestry services and products.

Scott and Stewart Forestry Consultants was established in Antigonish in 1985 to
serve Nova Scotia’s woodlot owners and the forest industry. We grow numerous kinds of seedlings, everything from Balsam Fir to Sugar Maple and everything in between. If we don't stock it, give us a year and a cutting and we can grow it for you. We have grown to be one of the largest non-industrial forest management fir

ms in Atlantic Canada employing 50 full time employees and over 200 seasonal workers. We also purchase stumpage at competative rates on private woodlots throughout Nova Scotia. We have harvested over one hundred woodlot for private landowners in recent years with low impact equipment. Many refererence can be provided if requested. We will taylor the harvesting to the landowers objectives. One year after harvesting there will be a followed-up assessment of the cut block to determine future treatments for a sustainable woodlot.

We continue to welcome our seasonal staff back for the spring.

In our rural community opportunities like these matter and we believe in investing in people like the forests we grow to ensure thriving communities and industry here in Nova Scotia.

From the nursery to the field these jobs build confidence, responsibility, and teamwork that last have lasting impacts far beyond the season.

As our busy season gets going we are still hiring for several positions, including:

• Nursery Workers
• Tree Planters
• Silviculture Saw Cutters
• Machine Operators

If you’re looking to start your career, gain experience, or try something new, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re off to an incredible start!

As we start the day on May 1st the team has already shipped and planted over 1 million seedlings - a milestone we’re proud of and one that takes a lot of planning, preparation, and teamwork to reach.

As our full planting program kicks off Monday May 4, the season is just getting started. With millions more seedlings to plant this Spring we’re excited to share the journey—from the nursery to our planting sites—every step of the way.

Stay tuned. It’s going to be a big year!
