Well, the 2026 Gardening Olympics are officially coming to a close for the year. 🏆
If you’re local to me, hopefully most of your garden has been pulled before the anticipated frost this weekend, especially with the dip in overnight lows and all the rain we’ve been seeing. Most root veggies will likely be okay for a little while yet — when in doubt, mulch. But most other things should probably be harvested or covered if you’re hoping to keep them going a bit longer before you get to pulling.
That being said, I’d like to congratulate you all on a season well done! 🥇
We had more than a few things to contend with this year: a cold spring, rains that seemed like they would never end, mosquitoes eating us alive whether it was raining or not, and mud. So much mud.
But through it all, our gardens still produced. And honestly, some things produced a surprising amount considering all the variables stacked against us.
So, good job, guys. We made it!
Here are a few cheeky images to celebrate the end of the season.
Rubber boots really were the runners-up this year. 🥾
