Plywood vs. Melamine — What’s the Difference?
At C&G Cabinets, one of the most common questions we get is:
“Should I choose plywood or melamine cabinet boxes?”
The truth is — both are great products when used properly. It all depends on your budget, style, and how the space will be used.
🔨 Plywood
✔ Strong and durable
✔ Better screw-holding strength
✔ Handles moisture better
✔ Lighter weight
✔ Great for high-end or heavy-use kitchens
Plywood is often chosen for premium cabinetry because of its strength and longevity.
🏠 Melamine
✔ Smooth, clean finish
✔ Very cost-effective
✔ Easy to clean
✔ Available in many colors and textures
✔ Excellent for modern cabinetry and storage solutions
Melamine is a fantastic option for homeowners wanting a beautiful, functional kitchen while keeping costs more budget-friendly.
So Which One Is Better?
There’s no “one size fits all” answer.
A well-built cabinet comes down to quality craftsmanship and proper installation, no matter the material.
At C&G Cabinets, we help you choose the best option for YOUR space, budget, and lifestyle — without cutting corners on quality.

Writing
🚪 DOORS or 🧰 DRAWERS?
Let’s settle the bottom cabinet debate 👇
When it comes to your kitchen… what do YOU prefer?
🧰 DRAWERS (Pull-Outs)
✔️ Easy access – no more digging in the back
✔️ Better organization (everything has a place)
✔️ Great for pots, pans & Tupperware
❌ Usually higher cost
❌ Can reduce overall vertical space for tall items
🚪 DOORS (Traditional Cabinets)
✔️ More budget-friendly
✔️ Flexible space for larger or awkward items
✔️ Classic, clean look
❌ Harder to reach items in the back
❌ Can get messy fast
🔥 REAL TALK:
Once people switch to drawers… they rarely go back 👀

✨ Taking Cabinets All the Way to the Ceiling… Yes or No? ✨
There’s something timeless and stunning about cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling. 😍
Not only do they create a clean, seamless look… they also:
✔️ Maximize storage (goodbye dust-collecting gaps 👋)
✔️ Make your ceilings feel taller
✔️ Give your kitchen that high-end, custom finish
But we know it’s not everyone’s style! Some people love a little breathing room or decorative space above their cabinets.
