💧 BASEMENT WINDOW WATERPROOFING — DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

At JC Unlimited Contracting, we believe that when a client has an issue, you don’t just look for the quickest fix — you find the root cause and make it right. 💪

We recently investigated a client’s basement window leak. Initially, we thought there might be a crack on the interior, but after properly investigating the issue, we discovered the real problem was on the outside.

Once we excavated the area, we found the drain was packed with dirt instead of gravel, causing water to collect in the window well. With nowhere to drain properly, the water was building up against the window, essentially turning the window well into a fishbowl — and eventually finding its way inside. 🌊

So, we’re going the extra mile to make it right. 👊

✅ Fully excavating the affected section
✅ Applying new exterior waterproofing
✅ Installing a brand-new drain
✅ Replacing the drainage gravel
✅ Installing a new window well
✅ Correcting the underlying issue instead of simply covering it up

As Mike Holmes famously says, “Make it right!” And that’s exactly what we believe in.

It’s not always about doing the cheapest or quickest repair. It’s about doing the job properly, standing behind your work, and making sure your clients get a solution that lasts.

Do it right. Go the extra mile. Take pride in your work. Because at the end of the day, that’s what separates a quick fix from quality workmanship. 🏡🔨

🏡 Burkhall Project | Fully Finished Basement

Today we’re at our Burkhall project, where we’re in the finishing stages of this fully finished basement for our clients.

This basement includes a full bathroom, full kitchenette, bedroom, living space, dining area, and recreational space — creating a complete, functional living area for our clients.

For the kitchenette, we were able to customize the cabinetry height specifically for our clients, who are a little taller than average. We took standard cabinetry lines and customized them to create a more custom, built-for-you feel, while still keeping everything within a standard cabinetry budget.

And yes… you can see the island is a little higher on me. I’m 5’10”… 😂

Okay, fine. I’m actually 5’8½”. 😂

That’s exactly what we do at JC Unlimited Contracting — thoughtful design, customized solutions, quality materials, and professional construction, all under one roof.

Designed for you. Built for you. Without unnecessary custom costs.

That’s what makes us Design. Supply. Build. 🏠

We’re in the finishing stages now, so follow along to see this entire basement come together!

Windows are in at our Hughes project! 🏡

Following up on our last post about VDK, our main window and door dealer, we wanted to show you another reason why we’re so impressed with the products we use.

It might seem like a small detail, but the protective coating on these windows is designed to protect both sides throughout the entire construction process. And when the build is complete? It simply pulls right off — taking all the stickers and protective film with it, leaving the windows clean and ready to enjoy.

It’s these little details that make a BIG difference during a build.

At JC Unlimited Contracting, we’re selective about the products, suppliers, and trades we use on every project. We believe that building a great home starts with using the best products and working with the right people from day one.

Quality isn’t just about what you see when the project is finished — it’s about every detail along the way.

🏗️ A NEW CHAPTER. A BIG MILESTONE. 🎉

After 15 years of building and growing JC Unlimited Contracting, we’re excited to introduce Cunningham Custom Homes as a new specialized sector of our company. 🏡 Cunningham Homes

And this one is a big deal. 🙌

Cunningham Custom Homes is now a licensed Home Builder and Vendor — a goal the owner of JC Unlimited has had for many years. After years of hard work, growth, and building an incredible team, that goal is finally becoming a reality. 🔨 #

But let’s make one thing very clear:

🟢 JC UNLIMITED IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

In fact, we’re stronger than ever. 💪

JC Unlimited will continue serving Barrie and surrounding areas with the renovation and contracting services our clients have trusted for the past 15 years. 🛠️

At the same time, Cunningham Custom Homes will have a dedicated team specializing in:

🏡 Custom New Builds
🔨 Large-Scale Renovations
➕ Major Additions
🏠 Whole-Home Transformations
🌲 High-End Cottages & Custom Homes

As our projects have grown, we realized that one team shouldn’t have to do everything.

Creating specialized divisions allows us to give every project the experience, attention, and management it deserves — rather than stretching one team across every type of project. 🎯

👥 Two divisions.

🛠️ Dedicated teams.

🎯 Specialized expertise.

⭐ One commitment to doing things right.

This isn’t a separation.

It’s an evolution. 🚀

We’re proud of everything JC Unlimited has built over the last 15 years, and we’re incredibly excited for what Cunningham Custom Homes brings to the future. 🏡✨

🚀 The next chapter starts now.
