Timber frame construction gives a home the flexibility to fit a difficult site instead of reshaping the site to fit the home.

This island cottage build is a good example — framed to preserve the surrounding trees, with a dining room angled for its own private lake view and a scissor-truss great room built around a skylight.

Progress update from our waterfront build in Innisfil! 🏗️🌊

Our customized Brighton bungalow is taking shape with local builder Dada Homes. Timber frame construction started on-site July 6, and by early August the framing was up — including a covered timber porch that's already framing up gorgeous lake views.

Windows and siding are next, scheduled for end of August.

There's something special about watching a timber frame come together board by board on a site like this.

Meet the Baril 3514 — a 1,832 sq. ft. bungalow cottage with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on one level.

The kitchen, dining room, and living room open into each other under a shared cathedral timber frame ceiling, and the 216 sq. ft. Muskoka room off the living room carries that same ceiling out into a bright, four-season space. A hip roof keeps the exterior low-profile, and a shed dormer lets extra light into the great room.

Originally released in 2011 and refreshed in 2023, the Baril is fully customizable and Net Zero and Energy Star ready.

This porte-cochère and carport is going up truss by truss, right over stone piers that were already doing all the heavy lifting. Nothing beats watching a frame like this come together — every joint cut and fit before it ever left the shop.
