Rogers Electric Motor Services has evolved over the past 30 years to become one of Eastern Canada’s largest electric motor rewind and rebuild facilities.

Bev Macphee is our General Manager in Stewiacke, NS — the person keeping the office in line and every department behind it running.

Shop, field service, inside sales, purchasing: each one needs something different, and Bev supports all of them. Every repair has a paper trail — the work order, the parts on order, the PO to the supplier, the confirmation back to the customer — and Bev keeps it straight so the technicians can stay on the tools and the customer always knows where their job stands. When a supplier sends the wrong thing or a quote lands under the wrong branch, Bev is the one who sorts it out — quickly, and usually before anyone else notices.

Bev joined Rogers in 2017, and nine years on she's the steady hand behind our Nova Scotia operation.

Next up in our meet the team series:

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗯.

Jacob Hosein is our Business Development Manager — the person out in front of the business, meeting customers where they are and figuring out where Rogers can help before they ever have a breakdown.

Over the past few weeks you've met some of the experts behind our work: the shop supervisor solving the hard problems, the inside sales desk finding the right part, the shop manager and the field service crew getting it done. Jacob's job is to connect those people with the customers who need them — the ones we've worked with for years, and the ones who haven't called us yet.

That means time on the road and on the phone across Atlantic Canada, learning what's running in a customer's plant, what's aging out, and what keeps their maintenance team up at night, then getting the right Rogers expert in front of them. When a request lands on the wrong desk, Jacob is usually the one who gets it to the right one.

Jacob joined Rogers in 2024 and has quickly become the link between what our customers need and what our five locations can deliver. Know us before you need us is more than a line to him — it's the job.

Next up in our meet the team series, we head out of the shop and onto the road:

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲.

Steve Sexsmith is our Field Service Manager in Nova Scotia — the person who takes the call when a customer's equipment goes down on site and it can't come to us. Pumps in a hotel mechanical room, a mill motor on a mine site, a drive on a plant floor: if it has to be fixed where it stands, Steve's team is the one that shows up.

Running field service is a different job from running a shop. Every site is new, every job has a clock on it, and the plan has to survive whatever the crew finds when they open the box. Steve's the one scoping the work, lining up the parts and the people, and making sure our technicians walk onto a site prepared, safe, and ready to get it done in the window they've been given.

He knows the job because he's done it. Steve came to Rogers in 2023 with years on the tools as a field technician, including time with BJ Electric before it became part of our team — so he's been the one on site with the clock running, and he manages his crew with that in mind.

Since then, he's built our Nova Scotia field service team into something our customers can count on: clear communication before the job, steady hands during it, and a straight answer when it's done.

Next up in our meet the team series:

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗴.

Craig Glendenning is our Shop Manager in Stewiacke, NS — the person running the shop that keeps Nova Scotia's water plants, marine operations, hospitals and manufacturers moving.

Craig's story is the Rogers story. He started with us in Bathurst in 2012 as a labourer, sweeping floors and moving motors. He learned the trade from the ground up, one job at a time, and worked his way through the ranks until he was the one running the floor. When we needed a leader for Stewiacke, Craig was the obvious choice.

That path is what makes him good at the job. There isn't a task in the shop Craig hasn't done himself, so his technicians get a manager who knows what the work takes, what a fair day looks like, and what "done right" means. Customers get the same: straight answers, realistic timelines, and a shop that delivers on them.

Fourteen years in, Craig is proof that at Rogers, the person who shows up and puts in the work gets the chance to grow.

Next up in our meet the team series, we head to Nova Scotia:

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁.

Scott Standen is our Inside Sales in Stewiacke, NS — the voice on the other end of the line when a customer needs a motor, a gearbox, a seal kit or a controller, and needs it sourced right the first time. He's on the desk every day, tracking down the right product, chasing quotes from suppliers, and getting answers back to customers fast.

That's the job nobody sees but everybody depends on. When one of our technicians needs a part to finish a repair, or a customer calls with a model number and a deadline, Scott is the one making it happen.

He also keeps the place fun. Ask anyone in the Stewiacke office — Scott brings a light mood and a steady supply of laughs to the desk, and on a long day in a busy shop, that counts for more than it sounds.

Scott joined the Rogers family in 2021 when BJ Electric Motor & Control became part of our team, and the customers he's looked after for years still have the same person to call.

Back to the shop floor for this week's meet the team. Every location has one person the crew looks to when the job gets complicated. In Bathurst, that's:

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘂.

Mathieu Vienneau-Richard is our Shop Supervisor in Bathurst, NB — and the lead problem solver on our shop floor. When a motor comes in with a fault nobody's seen before, or a job needs a part that doesn't exist off the shelf, Mathieu is the one the technicians turn to.

He's the link between the plan and the work: lining up jobs, chasing down shafts and components, keeping the floor moving, and making sure every unit that leaves the shop is one we'd put our name on. Calm when the pressure's on, hands-on when it counts.

Mathieu joined Rogers in 2013 after seven years as a technician in the Royal Canadian Navy, and spent his first six years with us on the road as a field service technician, solving problems on customer floors across the Maritimes. That's the perspective he brings to running ours: he knows what it costs a customer when a motor is down, and he runs the shop like it.

Thirteen years in, Mathieu is a big part of why our team runs the way it does.

3,500 kW. About 4,700 horsepower. And it had to come out.

Look at the photo — that's one of our technicians standing next to it. That's the scale we're talking about.

Three of them spent the week on a mine site in Atlantic Canada, pulling the in-service motor off the ball mill and putting the customer's spare into service.

Here's the part nobody sees. Full inspection on the spare before it went anywhere near the mill. Every single control wire labelled and photographed. Main leads marked so that mill turns the right way the moment it starts — get that wrong and you've got a very expensive problem on your hands.

The rheostat came back to our Stewiacke shop for a full inspection, clean and test.

Proud of this crew. That's a week well spent.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲.

Pierre Legere is our Shop Manager in Bathurst, NB — the person keeping our HQ shop humming, and the one our other location managers call when they need a resource, a second opinion, or a hand solving something the first look didn't fix.

Pierre Joined the Rogers team in 2011 as a machinist, earned his Red Seal Machinist certification in 2014, and grew from there — advancing to Reliability Manager before stepping into the Shop Manager role he holds today. Fifteen years in, his depth in motor analysis is one of the quiet reasons our operation runs the way it does.

Pierre also plays a vital role in keeping our quality control system top-notch and making sure our technicians on the floor have the tools, guidance, and backup they need to do the job right.
