Every time you get behind the wheel distracted, you put yourself and other road users at risk. 🚗📵
Even a few seconds of distraction, like checking a notification, changing a setting, or glancing at a screen, can have serious and lasting consequences.
Here are some important ways to reduce distractions and protect yourself and others on the road:
• Remember to keep your phone out of reach while driving, even when you are stopped in traffic or at a traffic light
• Refrain from sending messages or browsing to ensure safety on the road
• Avoid using any device that may take your attention away from the task of driving. This includes changing the settings on your navigation system or browsing the menu on your information system
• Keep your eyes on the road and safely control your vehicle at all times
🤳 We all play a role in safer roads. Encourage your friends and family to commit to distraction-free driving. As a passenger, you can also help reduce distractions by:
• Assisting with GPS or reading maps
• Handling phone calls, answering texts, or managing other messages for the driver to help maintain focus on the road
• Participate only in non-distracting conversations by avoiding emotional discussions or arguments
