Before a True North Log Home leaves our facility, every piece gets one final level of attention.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look inside our stain facility as the timbers are prepared for shipment. Each piece is inspected, treated, sanded, cleaned and carefully stacked before it becomes part of the complete log home package heading to the building site.

It’s one of those stages homeowners may never see, but it’s an important part of the process.

There’s a lot of care, craftsmanship and pride that goes into a True North home long before the first log is stacked on site.

Next stop: the build.

One of a kind spaces are one of our favourite parts of the design process.

Bathrooms are a great example. They can be quiet retreats, statement rooms, or something completely unexpected. The shape of the room, the windows, the timberwork, the finishes and even the view can all be designed around how you want the space to feel.

This one is anything but ordinary.

The vaulted timber ceiling, surrounding windows and natural wood create a space that feels warm, private and completely unique.

It’s something we love designing alongside our homeowners. Taking an idea that might start as “we want something special” and turning it into a space that feels entirely their own.

What would your dream bathroom include?

One of a kind, custom designed and built for island life in Muskoka. 🌲

For those unfamiliar with the area, Muskoka is one of Canada’s best-known cottage regions, located a few hours north of Toronto and defined by rocky shorelines, towering forests, clear lakes and some truly spectacular waterfront properties.

This remarkable True North Log Home was designed to make the most of that setting.

Located on an island, the home was created with entertaining in mind, with large open spaces, incredible natural light and stunning views in every direction.

Every part of the design reflects the property, the landscape and the way the owners wanted to live.

A full video tour is coming soon, but for now we wanted to share a few photos of this incredible Muskoka retreat.

What’s your favourite design element?

Special thanks to Pride Marine Group.
The Nautique S23 is a nice touch and fits right in!

A custom Great Lakes home, designed to overlook the stunning waters of Lake Huron.

Endless views. Crystal blue water. And a True North Log Home unlike any other.

The owners designed this home around their own tastes and experiences, blending the relaxed Great Lakes lifestyle with elements inspired by their farming background. The result is a beautiful mix of natural materials, classic character and personal touches that make the home completely their own.

That’s the beauty of true custom design.

Your home can reflect where you’ve come from, how you live and what you love. When you combine that personal vision with an extraordinary property, you can create something truly special.

Something uniquely yours, built to be enjoyed for generations.

There’s something about living on a Great Lake that’s hard to put into words. 💙

Crystal blue water stretching all the way to the horizon. Waves rolling against the shoreline. Quiet mornings with a coffee and sunsets that make you stop whatever you’re doing just to watch.

It feels less like owning a lake house and more like having your own place to escape the rest of the world.

And when the home itself is designed around that view, that landscape and the way you want to live, it becomes something truly unique.

A place to slow down. To gather. To make memories. And someday, to pass those experiences on to the next generation.

That’s the dream.

What would your perfect waterfront escape look like?

Behind the scenes at True North. 🌲

Long before your log home arrives on site, an incredible amount of work has already happened inside our factory.

Each log is precision cut and prepared as part of the complete home package. The details, connections and finishes are completed in a controlled environment by our team, helping ensure everything fits together the way it was designed when it reaches the building site.

It’s a combination of technology, precision and hands on craftsmanship that you may never see once the home is finished.

But it’s built into every True North Log Home.

Love the warmth and character of a log home, but your style leans a little more contemporary?

Why choose one?

This custom True North home brings the two together. Natural log walls and exposed timbers are paired with clean architectural lines, modern finishes, darker tones and a much more contemporary exterior.

The result still has that unmistakable warmth you want from a log home, but with an entirely different personality.

That’s what custom design is really about. It’s not about fitting your taste into a particular style. It’s about taking the things you love and designing a home around them.

Traditional. Contemporary. Rustic. Modern. Or somewhere completely in between.
Bring us your ideas. We’re here to help design your True North.

As fall starts to creep in and the mornings and evenings get a little cooler, there’s something about a warm fire that makes a True North Log Home feel even more special. 🔥

There’s a reason so many of our homes are designed around a large fireplace. It can become the centrepiece of the room, but more importantly, it becomes a place to gather.

A place to slow down. Read a book. Enjoy a morning coffee. Sit with family after a long day. Or simply watch the fire and do absolutely nothing.

Stone, timber, logs and a crackling fire. Some things just belong together.
