Happy 2018 everyone! The craziness of Christmas is behind us and we hope you all enjoyed time with family and friends.

We've heard that Christmas morning was a joyful one for the seniors who received your gifts. The excitement was electric as each beautiful package was opened to reveal the thoughtfulness and care that was put into each one. Our collective efforts reflect the level of compassion and concern for others in our community and that, in itself, is the greatest gift for everyone.

Doing things for others selflessly is rewarding, but it's always nice to be recognized for our efforts! MP Sonia Sidhu heard about our initiative and asked to meet to congratulate us on the success of our project. While we couldn't all be there, we felt you were there in spirit as we shared the stories of a community coming together with the help of our incredible Santas, and the difference we feel we made to many seniors-in-need.

Wow! We all know our population is aging but do you know what the fastest-growing population has been since 2011?
The Centenarians!!! There are more than 8000 people that have celebrated their 100th birthday across the country this year! What an accomplishment!

Face it Canada, we're getting old, though as the latest census figures show, not every part of the country is growing grey at the same pace
