This little guy was caught red handed checking us out through the hole he chewed to get inside

Wood is pretty easy for a determined squirrel to chew through, especially once they find an area that gives them a good starting point

Wasp activity is ramping up 🐝

We’ve been seeing some pretty serious nests lately, including this MASSIVE nest tucked underneath a soffit at a recent call

This time of year, nests can grow quickly and the activity around them can get pretty vicious, only intensifying as the summer continues on

We’ll take care of the nest and continue treating the area if needed, as our wasp services are guaranteed through the end of the season.

This is one attic guest you probably don’t want sticking around!!

While some of you are shopping for Halloween decorations and bat themed throw blankets, our team has been keeping busy with the real thing 😂🦇

Bat removal can only be done during certain times of the year, and right now is one of those windows where we can safely get bats out of an attic while making sure they can’t find their way back inside.

The trickiest part is figuring out how they’re getting in...
Bats can squeeze through surprisingly small openings, sometimes no wider than a finger. Gaps along the roofline, soffits, attic vents, chimneys and flashing are all common entry points.

Getting the bats out solves the immediate problem, but sealing up those entry points is what keeps them from moving back in.

If you’ve spotted a bat getting into your home or suspect something is in the attic, now is a good time to have it checked out. Give us a call!

This is a pretty big way for a raccoon to let itself in 😳

At two different calls this week, our techs found these holes chewed right through the roof to get into the attic.

And once an opening gets this big, you’re dealing with more than just the raccoon that made it.

Other wildlife can get in too, squirrels, rodents, bats, and when it rains, water can get in too.

That can mean wet insulation, damaged drywall, ceiling leaks, and a much bigger repair than the original entry point

This is why we always recommend dealing with wildlife entry points sooner rather than later…. A hole in the roof is an open invitation to more trouble

It’s that time of year where we’ll start trading raccoon baby calls for skunk calls

While raccoons usually keep us busy in attics, skunks prefer to move in underneath decks, sheds, porches, and foundations

The challenge with skunks is that getting them out is only half the job. If the area underneath isn’t properly protected, they’re able to dig their way right back in.

That’s why we install an underground trench barrier around the entire perimeter. It stops skunks from digging underneath again and helps solve the problem for the long term.

Once a skunk finds a safe place to live, it’ll often come back again and again if it still has access… We make sure it doesnt 💥🦨

Ever had a birds living in your exhaust vent?

If you have, you already know how loud and annoying they can be. Scratching, chirping, fluttering… and usually starting bright and early in the morning

Todays job involved removing a bird nest and babies from an exhaust vent

The babies were handled with care and safely removed so they can be reunited with mom, while the nest and all nesting material were removed and disposed of.

From there, the vent was cleaned, sanitized, treated for mites, and properly sealed to prevent future visitors from moving in

A bird nest might seem harmless, but when it’s packed inside a vent it can create noise, airflow issues, and a whole lot of frustration for homeowners

Sometimes the smallest tenants create the biggest headaches 🪹🐦‍⬛

Pretty rare find today. Our team came across SEVEN baby raccoons in the attic, all from the same litter 😦

Typical litters range from 1-4 babies. This mama has her hands full!

They’d made themselves at home inside the soffit, and with that many up there things can get out of hand fast if they’re not dealt with.

We’re talking torn-up soffits and vents from mom coming and going, ongoing roof damage, insulation getting squished, soiled and dirty, and even drywall getting stained, contaminated and sagging from all the waste buildup.

What starts as a tiny opening can turn into a pretty big headache.

If you think something’s going on up there, it’s a good idea to get it checked out sooner rather than later.

Hey little fellas 👋🏼 A lot of people assume “raccoon removal” means snaring, trapping and relocating to a new area but that’s not how we do things

These babies rely on their mom. So instead, we focus on humane practices and reuniting them. We safely remove them and place them outside in a baby box so when she returns, she can easily find them and move them to a new den site

At the same time, we make sure she can’t get back inside the home.

It’s a simple approach we’ve trusted for over 10 years, and it keeps both the home and the animals safe

Skunks also have had their babies.

Now is not the time to evict skunks from under your shed or deck.

Skunks are peaceful and would rather not spray you or your dog because it takes a lot of energy and time ti recharge. During that time they are defenceless.

Their eyesight isn’t very good, but if you move slow so they know you are there they are not likely to spray you.

They are predominantly nocturnal, so turning on outside light and giving your yard a once over before letting your dog out at night can go a long way toward preventing the dog getting sprayed.

The little skunk in the picture and her siblings have been with us for sometime. They are doing good so far and are starting to grow fur. Soon their little eyes will open.
