1000 Islands Spray Foam is currently looking for a few dependable, hard working individuals to join our team as a spray foam installer or spray foam assistant.

The spray foam installer position includes managing your own spray foam rig (either truck/trailer rig combination or standalone box rig), where you will travel to assigned jobs and complete work as assigned. You will be responsible for all aspects of the job including proper care and management of vehicles and equipment, site prep, insulation install, and clean-up upon job completion. In this position, you will also be expected to manage any staff who are working with you on any assigned job.

The spray foam assistant position is a great opportunity for you to try out the position and find out what spray foam and insulation is all about! Duties will include (but are not limited to) jobsite prep before, and site cleanup after spray foam installation, assisting the spray foam installer as requested during the foam application process, and monitoring of spray foam equipment during the install process. Other duties as assigned by the lead installer and / or management. For the right candidate, this position could very well lead into employer paid training and certification to become a spray foam installer through both CUFCA and Caliber, where you yourself would be responsible for managing a spray rig and helper, and completing jobs independently.

In both of these positions, you must have a willingness to show up on time and as scheduled, be willing to work varying hours during the week and on weekends, be willing to work in confined spaces or at heights, and MUST utilize all required PPE including full face fresh air respirator masks. Heavy lifting is required in this position and applicant must be able to lift 50lbs without issue or restriction.

Must have a full drivers licence (G or higher) with a clean driving abstract.

While it may be hot as heck these past several weeks, that hasn't stopped the 1000 Islands crew from helping people get their spray foam projects completed.

On this project, a great local contractor (who we have worked with many times before) was hired to build a second level onto an existing cottage, plus build a new roof on part of the cottage to make it into a sunroom. We were brought in to spray foam the underside of the roof decking in what's referred to as a "hot roof", to help seal things up and provide great R-value for the new cathedral ceiling.

Sometimes we absolutely love our jobs, with amazing views of the St Lawrence River!

First off I hope everyone is staying cool during this extreme hot spell we seem to keep having!

Attic insulation is something that almost everyone things of during the cold season...but many dont think of it during times like this. Your attic insulation is what works to keep your heat inside in the winter....but it also works to keep that hot attic heat out during the summer months.

A lack of adequate insulation (and proper venting) can cause your home or business air conditioning system to be in overdrive trying to cool your space when you dont have sufficient attic insulation to "insulate" the hot attic, from your cooler interior living space.

When people think of spray foam, they don't always think of its use as a way to insulate under slab before pouring your concrete floors. Many also don't think of its benefits as a radon barrier.

On this project, we laid down 2" of closed cell Grizzly Gold spray foam on the gravel base, providing both R12 of insulating value AND a complete radon barrier, which doesn't require a membrane or poly before pouring the concrete floor.

We also sprayed the front step area for the customer, providing much needed frost protection for their step.

Wanted to share a little progress photo on a Howe Island job that we recently worked on with our fabulous repeat customer, contracting partner Patterson Construction. In this job we did a full hot roof on their new addition, as well as rim joists pockets and insulating of the crawlspace.

We will also be adding a new Viper 10mil crawlspace v***r barrier to not only control moisture, but act as a full Radon barrier to meet building code.
