Let's wait one more week! was a decision I definitely regretted.
While I was waiting for the perfect moment, the rodents had other plans. They visited the garden and feasted on the corn, leaving me to count the losses. It’s a hard lesson and reminder that: gardening teaches us patience and resilience.

There is nothing quite like hands-on learning!
Today at Learning Tree Daycare, the children are getting their hands dirty helping to prepare our new garden bed. We are so grateful to the Crows Point Community Garden Committee for making this possible. Fall crops are coming soon!

It’s not just about the veggies!
The garden is full of "good bugs" too. Loving the visits from ladybugs and the unique Banded Alder Borer. They’re the unsung heroes keeping the garden thriving.

Join Us This Summer! Help keep our UHE school garden thriving during the summer break. Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned pro, we’d love to have you join our community of growers.
What You’ll Do:
Targeted Watering: Because our garden is so large, volunteers are asked to water a specific section rather than the whole space in one go.
Garden Care: Assist with weeding and harvesting a variety of fresh vegetables.
Autumn Prep: Help us start seeds for fall crops like broccoli, cabbage, kale, onions, and leafy greens.
Our Garden Space: Our diverse growing area includes metal raised beds, large round planter pots, and in-ground garden beds, providing a variety of ways to learn about gardening.
Volunteer Benefits:
Harvest the Rewards: Take home the fresh, organic produce you help grow!
Please remember: Bring your own shopping bags to transport your harvest home.
Location: Find us at the back of the gravel sports field at the UHE School.
How to Get Started: All volunteers must attend a 1-hour orientation.
Participants can choose to attend either the session on June 12th (17:00 – 18:00) or the one on June 13th (10:00 – 11:00).
To Sign Up: Please send an email to [email protected] to schedule your orientation session.
