A new chapter for early learning in Port Moody, BC.

This daycare renovation and expansion accommodates for 37 children and six additional staff, with dedicated spaces for 12 infants and toddlers and 25 children ages 3–5.

Our structural scope included:
• Enclosing an existing balcony to expand interior space
• Enhancing the building’s seismic capacity
• A new ~630 sq. ft. independent canopy over the entry bridge
• Exterior landscape retaining walls along the northeast side

Thoughtful structural design helping create a safer, more functional space for children, families, and staff.

At WHM, we recognize that this May 5th, red dresses are not just symbols; they are powerful, visceral reminders of the vibrant lives taken too soon and the families forever changed...

Each dress represents a daughter, a mother, a sister, or a friend from Indigenous, 2SLGBTQI+, and gender diverse communities who should rightfully still be here today, with us.

We believe that the red reflects the blood that was shed - yes, but it also speaks much more powerfully to the strength and resilience of those who remain. We stand in the silence left behind and transform it into a collective call for justice, healing, and accountability.

Today, we remember their names, honour their spirits, and commit ourselves to a future where no more sisters are stolen.

WHM Structural Engineers is proud to announce the submission of our 2026 Embodied Carbon Action Plan (ECAP) as part of our continued commitment to the SE2050 Challenge.

We support the SEI vision that all structural engineers must understand, reduce, and ultimately eliminate embodied carbon in their projects by 2050. By incorporating sustainable strategies at the structural level, we are driving meaningful change from the ground up.
