[Stone Story Monday 🧱]
Every September there's a last job. This one was it.
Not dramatic from the outside — a chimney repointing on a residential street in Calgary, the kind of repair we do dozens of times a year. Deteriorated mortar joints, a crown showing the beginning of its inevitable cracks, the usual story.
But there's something different about the last job of the season. Every year it's the same feeling — get up there, do it properly, cure it before the temperatures drop, and know that this homeowner is going into winter with one less thing to worry about.
That's what masonry actually is, when you strip away the project photos and the before/after shots. It's a Calgary homeowner going through November, December, January without thinking about their chimney. Without lying awake during the first big freeze wondering if the water got in. Without adding it to next spring's list.
Tony and Sokol have been doing this long enough to know what "properly done" looks like and what it doesn't. Every job this season — this one included — was done to the same standard. Not because it's the last one. Because it's the only standard we know.
10 days left in the booking window. If you've been sitting on something all summer, this is the last realistic window before the curing season closes. Free estimate, honest scope, same crew start to finish.
