CRAGS September meeting is on Thursday Sept 10. We start with our annual fall "Last Chance Plant Sale" at 6:00pm, followed by the meeting (in-person and via Zoom) at 7:00pm. The meeting is at Lakeview Community Hall, 6110-34 St SW, Calgary. Parking is free.
We hope everyone had a good summer of gardening and we welcome all to the meeting.
The speaker will be CRAGS member Dr. Marion Jones, introducing us to The Principles and Philosophy of Chinese and Japanese Garden Design –Fashioning a Maze of Earthly Delights. Learn about the principles and history that informed classical Chinese and Japanese garden designs, covering imperial palace gardens, temple gardens and the gardens of wealthy merchants and officials. The common factors and differences between Japanese and Chinese design principles, and also the symbolism and meanings behind plants and imagery.
Doors will open at 6pm for Last Chance Plant Sale and to mingle with the speaker and take in some light refreshments and snacks. The speaker meeting will start at 7pm.
