Strike Group is a leading energy infrastructure builder and maintainer based in Calgary, Alberta and services Western Canada’s industry in the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors. Our three fabrication centers build and supply carbon, stainless, and alloy piping for module fabrication and facility construction. Strike's electrical and instrumentation services offer full solution installation packages for a variety of projects and packaged equipment. 📢 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐉𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓

Our Grande Prairie team recently completed Four Pipe Rack Modules for a Compressor Station Expansion, delivering a complex scope safely and on schedule.

The project included some impressive numbers and a wide range of capabilities:
🔹 Nearly 46,000 kg of structural steel fabricated and assembled
🔹 3,500 inches of welded piping, including post-weld heat treatment
🔹 944 linear metres of installed pipe
🔹 Electrical and heat trace installation
🔹 Hydrotesting, non-destructive examination, insulation, internal and external painting, and final shipment readiness

Luke O'Reilly oversaw all project scopes and trade ex*****on; the work brought together structural, piping, coating, insulation, electrical, and heat trace teams to deliver all four modules safely, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality.

Shoutout to Branden Akhurst, Shop Supervisor, for managing the pipe fabrication program, piping installation, and helping keep production moving efficiently.

Huge thanks to everyone involved! This project is another great example of what happens when planning, craftsmanship, and teamwork come together to deliver results.

Some people have a way of making even the most complicated things look effortless, and Mariana Trapnell is certainly one of them!

A true Excel wizard, financial strategist, and master of turning complex data into meaningful insights, Mariana has an incredible talent for creating reports and tools that aren't just functional and efficient, but beautifully designed and easy to use.

But Mariana's brilliance goes well beyond spreadsheets, formulas, and financial reporting. Her passion for sharing knowledge, finding better ways of doing things, and helping others succeed has made a lasting impact on the people and teams she's worked with.

Through it all, Mariana has brought a calm, thoughtful, and steady presence, even when tackling the most complex challenges. Her intelligence, patience, generosity, and quiet confidence are qualities that will be deeply missed.

We are proud to recognize Glen Hickey, Equipment Operator from our White City Business Unit, with Canadian Plains, a Strike Group company, as the CPES August 2026 Safety Ambassador!

Nominated by Tanner Anderson, Superintendent, here is what he had to say:

“He consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to safety and leads by example in everything he does. He actively identifies potential hazards, communicates concerns clearly, and ensures work is completed safely and according to established procedures. His willingness to speak up, support his coworkers, and promote a positive safety culture makes him an excellent candidate for this safety award.

He consistently follows all Safe Work Practices (SWPs) and takes the time to complete thorough Safety Observation Cards (SOCs). His observations are meaningful and focused on identifying hazards, improving work practices, and recognizing positive safety behaviours. He leads by example and encourages others to follow established procedures and actively participate in the site’s safety program.

He consistently completes thorough daily equipment inspections and ensures any deficiencies are identified, reported, and corrected before the equipment is put into service. His attention to detail helps prevent incidents and ensures equipment remains safe and reliable for everyone on site.”

Tomorrow, October 10, is World Mental Health Day, an important reminder that not every struggle is visible, and not every challenge ends when the workday does.

We take pride in showing up, pushing through challenges, and being there for our crews. But strength isn't just about what we can carry. Sometimes, it's about recognizing when we need support.

The ICBA | Independent Contractors and Businesses Association’s 'Meet the Generals & Owners' event in Edmonton did not disappoint.

With 2,000+ construction industry professionals under one roof, the energy was incredible. Our team had a great time connecting with contractors, suppliers and industry partners from across the region, strengthening relationships, exchanging ideas and exploring new opportunities to work together.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by to connect with the Strike Group team, and to ICBA for hosting another fantastic event! It was great to see Alberta’s construction community come together in such a big way.

🔥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞

We are proud to recognize Mike Bonnell, HSE Coordinator with our Projects Group, as our August 2026 Safety Ambassador!

Mike was nominated by Adam Harvey, and here is what he had to say:

“Mike does everything; even though he is in safety, he is so passionate about making sure everybody gets home safe. He takes the time to teach and mentor new and old workers with HIACs, controlling the Hazards and how to interface with other groups. He leads the Joint Health and Safety Committee and ensures everyone is listened to and that the issues get resolved.

It was not that long ago that Mike was spotting for the Civil Equipment at Nordegg, and now he has come so far in such a short period of time, which shows me his dedication and passion for what he does.

His leadership can be seen in the morning tailgates, how he takes current issues on site and gets the room to participate in resolving it. I am the one who talked to Mike about getting into Safety, because he was a committed individual who was not afraid to step out of his wheelhouse and help.”
