Whether you're building, designing, or planning, "close enough" can sometimes lead to expensive lessons.

Accurate survey data helps ensure projects start with the right information from day one.

Because guessing is rarely a strategy.

🌟 Worker Spotlight

Meet Josh Southgate, CAD Specialist at Global Raymac Surveys!

Josh plays a key role in keeping our CAD systems efficient, accurate, and consistent. From maintaining templates and tools to developing automations, supporting project teams, providing user training, and troubleshooting the occasional “CAD mystery,” his work helps keep projects moving smoothly behind the scenes.

For Josh, a successful day often means that some work goes unnoticed because everything is running exactly as it should. He enjoys building elegant solutions that save users tons of time and improve how teams work together.

Josh says that if he could have any career, he would be a pilot, or astronaut. Outside of work, he loves the positive energy of punk rock, and learning about scientific skepticism and how it can help navigate the complexities of everyday life.

Thank you, Josh, for your dedication, problem-solving mindset, and the important role you play in supporting our teams across Global Raymac!

Arguments? Not really our thing 😄

👉 We don’t argue—we provide evidence.

That’s what surveying is all about—facts, data, and getting it right the first time.

🦟 Mosquitoes: undefeated.
👷 Survey crews: still showing up anyway.

Every field season comes with challenges.

Heat, rain, rough terrain... and mosquitoes that seem to know exactly where you are at all times.

Thankfully, our crews are tougher than they look. 💪

🏔️ The terrain vs. our tripod.

(It's personal.)

Every survey project comes with its own challenges.

Rocky ground, steep grades, uneven surfaces, thick vegetation... and somehow, our tripod always ends up in the middle of it.

The battle continues.

What's the toughest terrain you've ever had to set up on?
🌲 Dense bush?
⛰️ Mountain slopes?
🌾 Muskeg?
🪨 Rock outcrops?

Tell us your worst setup story. 👇

🚩 "If your survey was suspiciously cheap… we should talk."

We've all heard the saying: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

A survey is the foundation for many important project decisions. Choosing a provider based on price alone can sometimes lead to missing information, delays, or unexpected costs later on.

At Global Raymac Surveys, we're committed to providing accurate, dependable survey data you can trust the first time.

Because saving a little upfront shouldn't cost you a lot later.

It’s basically a law at this point 😄

Surveying Truth #7:
The further the site… the worse the weather.

Sunny in town, storming on site—every time. Huge shoutout to our crews who power through it all! 🙌

Survey markers may appear to be simple pins, stakes, or posts, but they are legally protected monuments that identify property boundaries and critical survey reference points.

These markers help surveyors, landowners, developers, utility companies, and municipalities accurately locate property lines and infrastructure. Removing or disturbing them can create boundary disputes, delay projects, and result in significant costs to re-establish the original location.

In Alberta, it is illegal to remove, alter, or damage an official survey monument. Violations can result in fines of up to $10,000, plus the costs of restoring the survey evidence.

If you find a survey marker on your property or worksite:
✅ Leave it in place
✅ Protect it during construction activities
✅ Contact an Alberta Land Surveyor if you have concerns about its location

A small marker can have a big impact on property rights, construction projects, and the integrity of Alberta's land survey system.
