At 12:03 a.m. Edt, environment canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel size hail and heavy rain.

A line of thunderstorms is extending from kitchener to tillsonburg. These thunderstorms are moving east at 60 km/h.

Heavy downpours are likely to cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Lightning kills and injures canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. The office of the fire marshal and emergency management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Bans remain in effect for open burning. This includes fireworks . Grass is burnt out and dry across the city.

If a forest fire started Tuesday in Waterloo Region or certain other parts of southern Ontario, the persistently dry conditions mean it would be very difficult for it to be extinguished.
