Stay in this moment. Don’t move too fast. 🤍

Summer in Alberta goes too fast. Today kids start back to school, and it feels like fall. But I’m not ready.
Last week Sierra Starry Hope Pottery spent some time wandering through the gardens with her talented photographer eye, gathering flowers as she went and creating these beautiful images.

I think I could stay right here for a while.

I’m not ready for summer to go. I want to soak up more moments like this. ✨

This is one of my favourite things about selling buckets of flowers.

A customer gave me a loose colour palette for a special anniversary dinner, and I chose a mix of flowers for her to work with.

And then she made this.

A bucket of locally grown flowers became beautiful arrangements for a special dinner with people she loves.

And that’s really what I love about buckets.

They don’t have to be for a wedding.

They can be for an anniversary, a birthday, a shower, a dinner party—or just because you want to give a bunch of flowers to someone you love.

You bring the occasion.

I’ll bring the flowers. 🌸

What would you use a bucket of flowers for?

There are so many people who could use a little beauty and hope right now. 🤍

Today I’m leaving 20 mini bouquets at G.O.A.T Coffee Co , and I’ll be leaving more there on Friday too. They’re free — because sometimes a small, unexpected kindness can make someone’s whole day feel a little lighter.

📚I’m thinking of the moms doing back-to-school shopping.
🌾The wives heading into harvest.
👩🏻‍🏫The teachers setting up classrooms and sitting through meetings.
✨The teenagers feeling anxious about going back to school.
👩‍⚕️The nurses who had a hard shift and are heading home to their families.
💖And so many others who are simply carrying a lot right now.

👉🏻Take one for yourself.
🌸 Or take one to give away to someone who needs a little encouragement.

And while you’re there, grab a coffee to go with your flowers. ☕️🌸

A little beauty. A little hope. A simple way to be kind.

There are some bouquets that just make me happy.

This one feels like middle of August to me. 🌻

Sunflowers. Rudbeckia. Zinnias. Marigolds. Bupleurum. Frosted Explosion. Bells of Ireland. Amaranth.

All annuals.

All flowers I wasn’t entirely sure would make it through this season.

And yet here they are—full of colour, texture and the kind of joy that makes you stop and look a little longer.

This season has been challenging in more ways than one. Cold. Rain. More rain. Weeds. More rain….

But this is your little reminder:

Keep growing.
Keep going.
Don’t give up hope. 🌻
Thanks Crown Photography & Film for always capturing my flowers so beautifully

The flowers are thriving. The weeds are thriving harder. 😂August on the flower farm is beautiful… and a little humbling.

I have to talk about these marigolds!

Not your grandma’s marigolds… these are bold, huge, and total garden showstoppers.

They attract beneficial insects, bloom nonstop, and pair beautifully with everything from soft pastels to deep jewel tones. Even the foliage is gorgeous.

Best part? They’re really easy. Sun + a little care = they do the rest.

Didn’t expect to love them this much… but here we are 🌿✨

This season has been full in every possible way.

Some days I’m tired because there’s just so much to do.

Some days I’m tired because around, hosting people, trying to keep up with the garden, or squeezing in a little camping before the summer disappears.

And some days I stop and realize… this is the life I wanted.

It’s messy and busy and sometimes completely exhausting.

But it’s also full of flowers, good people, celebrations, and a garden that keeps giving me more than I could have imagined.

I think I’m learning to be a little more grateful for the tired, too. 🤍. Photo thanks to Crown Photography & Film

This week on the farm…

A little bit of everything.

Flowers for a wedding and an anniversary.
A bloom bar.
Harvesting what feels like ALL the flowers.
Fertilizing the dahlias and lisianthus because I’m still waiting on those late-season beauties.

I’ve also been dealing with a hacking cough that has meant working in shorter bursts instead of powering through everything, which has honestly been a good reminder that the farm will still be here if I slow down a little.

We’re squeezing in my son’s birthday party, and somehow even managed to sneak away for a couple nights of camping in the middle of it all.

Five weeks of subscriptions are officially in the books and ten weddings have come and gone this season.

And now it’s Saturday morning, the garden is absolutely exploding, harvest is just around the corner, and I’m starting to notice little signs that fall is coming.

August is a lot. 😂
But it’s a pretty good kind of a lot.
