You might be wondering why you haven’t heard from us lately...
Well, as many of you know, the Emerald Awards took place on Thursday, and we were there, proudly representing our shortlisted projects. It took us a little while to process everything that happened and reflect on what the experience meant for our work—and what an experience it was!
From the welcome address by a Knowledge Keeper representing the original stewards of this land—the Indigenous Peoples—to the inspiring speeches, including remarks from one of the founders of the Emerald Foundation, the evening was filled with meaningful moments, recognition, and celebration. Add in the awards presentations, inspiring stories, and wonderful musical performances, and it truly was a night to remember.
The event was all about celebration and hope. Hope for a better future for our planet—one that can sustain us all while protecting its natural beauty and precious resources.
We couldn’t feel more fortunate and proud to be recognized among so many amazing people who are making a difference through their work, passion, and commitment every day. Being surrounded by individuals and organizations dedicated to creating positive change left us inspired and energized for the journey ahead.
Congratulations to all the finalists, award recipients, and changemakers who continue to lead the way toward a more sustainable future.
A special congratulations goes to our friends at the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley: Nick and his incredible team of volunteers, who help teach our community how to live responsibly and respectfully alongside wildlife. Your dedication makes our community stronger, safer, and more connected to the natural world around us.
