🍂 Why fall gutter cleaning matters

Once the leaves are down, your gutters are holding them. When gutters back up, water spills over the edge, soaking your fascia, staining your siding, and pooling around your foundation. In the cold, standing water can also freeze and add weight your gutters weren't built for.

Got gutter guards? They help, but they still need cleaning. Leaves and needles sit on top of the covers, break down, and wash through the screens, slowly filling the gutter underneath.

How we clean them: We mostly use a SkyVac gutter vacuum from the ground and rinse when needed. When height or roof access calls for it, we go up and blow them out. We do whatever it takes to get the job done right.

Fall is gutter cleaning season! 🍂 Once the leaves drop, clogged eavestroughs can overflow, soak your fascia and foundation, and freeze into ice dams over the winter.

Fall lawn tip: don't leave leaves sitting on your grass over winter. A wet layer of leaves under the snow smothers the lawn and invites snow mould, which shows up as matted, dead patches in spring. Rake or mulch-mow them every week or two until they're done falling. Keep mowing until the grass stops growing, and drop your last cut a notch to about 2 to 2.5 inches. Short on time?
