🌳✂️ What to Prune for Strong, Healthy Trees ✂️🌳
1️⃣ Competing leaders
Remove the weaker leader to keep a clear, stable main structure.
2️⃣ Deformed or poorly shaped branches
Eliminate branches that grow irregularly or weaken the tree’s form.
3️⃣ Branches growing from the same point
Thin out branches that emerge too close together or grow on the same plane.
4️⃣ Narrow or weak attachments
Cut branches with tight angles that are more likely to split over time.
5️⃣ Weak growth inside the canopy
Remove water sprouts that drain energy and do not produce fruit.
6️⃣ Growth from the base of the tree
Take out suckers to prevent competition with the main trunk.
7️⃣ Crossing or rubbing branches
Keep the stronger branch and remove the smaller one to avoid wounds.
8️⃣ Broken or diseased branches
Prune damaged wood to limit the spread of disease and decay.
9️⃣ Inward-growing branches
Remove branches growing toward the center to improve light and airflow.
🔟 Overcrowded branches
Thin dense areas to balance growth and maintain tree health.
🌱 Proper pruning strengthens structure, improves light pe*******on, and supports long-term tree vitality.
