How we check a space heater circuit before winter: the goal is to spot overloads and wear before a breaker trip becomes a bigger problem.
We start by checking what else shares the circuit. Space heaters draw significant power, and running one alongside other high-draw appliances can overload a circuit. Next, we inspect the outlet and wiring for heat marks, discoloration, loose connections, or worn parts. If the breaker trips when your heater runs, stop resetting it. Unplug the heater and have the circuit checked.
We handle outlet repairs and wiring troubleshooting throughout Sardis and Chilliwack. We’ll identify what’s causing the trouble and make repairs in line with applicable BC electrical code requirements. Until then, use a space heater only as directed by its manufacturer, keep it clear of anything that can burn, and plug it directly into a suitable wall outlet.
