Well it's been a fun 3 years selling eggs, chicks, layers and produce .... Scaling back now all around in order to provide more food security for our family and staying within the limit of our own consumption.
For us, we're letting go of some of our family this weekend. 30 less laying hens around will bring a bit of peace back into our backyard.

Next year we will start raising our own meat birds and rabbits and take over the old pen area with a potato patch.
The Victory garden infront has been sweet coming, our most successful year to date... but definitely wouldn't feed a family of 4 just yet.

Anyone have lungwort planted in their garden beds? Looking for about 10 leaves.

Next year less peas more peppers!

More clover cover cropping!! This worked fantastic on the walkways so next year I'll sprinkle into the beds before planting, reducing w**d pressure bringing nutrients

More corn, 10 rows next year 🤞🏼

Adding a phone connected irrigation system should be beneficial to my sanity and It should stop forgetting that 1 corner lol .

Don't rely on your sunflower labels as single heads and space more like 4-5' apart for shading.

Cucumber plants will trellis your sunflowers corn etc saving time and money

Start your flowers a month earlier then the veggies to help with pests

Invest in insect netting/shading for hoop tunnels - lettuce in the summer?!!!

Don't underestimate luffa vines or grape vines - rebuildddddddddd.

It's weird looking at 3-4 variety's growing in the same bed but the chemistry is making sense and filling the space for less w**ds

Bird bath with rocks for the bees too! and hummingbird feeder in the garden

More potato's next year, although this hurts the labor vs harvest balance... Crates of dirt spuds during winter is so exciting to look at and stores cheaply.

Herbal garden definitely needs a revamp!

Strawberries should double in size
