Forgot to take a “before” photo, there is only an “after”. We removed the weeds, trimmed the bushes, dug up the dead plants. The goal was to make the garden look clean and tidy 🌿

Why I often advise clients not to plant boxwoods in Ontario

Yes, they’re affordable and tidy with regular pruning. But in our climate, boxwoods are a high-maintenance gamble.

They’re vulnerable to boxwood blight—a fast-spreading fungal disease that’s been hitting Ontario since 2014—and often suffer from winter burn and pests like the box tree moth.

Most clients don’t want to spend every spring replacing dead shrubs or fighting fungus.

That’s why I recommend tougher alternatives—like yews—that cost more upfront but save you time, money, and frustration in the long run.

Hooray! Hooray! 🥳 Our family business started a new season of gardening yesterday. We haven’t planted anything yet, we’re just cleaning up, preparing bushes and trees for the soon, I hope, spring.

What a thrill it is: to make things beautiful 💚

In our joy, we worked for two clients at once 😃 we need to use the sunny days wisely.

Our new job, such a wonderful, small front yard that needed care and cleaning. In my opinion, we fulfilled the task. By the way, if anyone hasn't seen, we got a special vacuum cleaner for leaves and small debris. Now we can clean very thoroughly.
