✨ Great gallery lighting doesn’t demand attention — it directs it.

At the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre in Duncan, BC, the goal was simple: create a lighting system that supports the artwork quietly, precisely, and flexibly — allowing each exhibition to take centre stage.

This upgrade modernized the gallery with a fully LED lighting platform built around adaptability and visual calm. Using Liteline’s ATK Series track with FLEX track heads, the system delivers controlled beam placement, dependable colour consistency, and the flexibility to easily shift with changing exhibits and layouts.

Finished in black and integrated into the deep grey ceiling, the track system visually recedes into the architecture — creating a clean ceiling line that keeps the focus where it belongs: on the art itself.

With nearly 200 feet of track and 80 adjustable track heads installed throughout the space, the gallery now has a future-ready lighting foundation that can evolve alongside its programming.

The result is lighting that feels intentional, unobtrusive, and ready for whatever comes next. 💡🎨

✨ Great lighting doesn’t just happen — it’s protected.

If you’ve ever seen a project drift from the original vision, you already know: design intent doesn’t disappear all at once — it gets chipped away through miscommunication, rushed coordination, and late-stage decisions. 👇

In our latest feature, Who Moved My Light?, we unpack a candid panel discussion hosted during Lumorphéa — featuring insights from Victor Quezada (Principal + Architectural Lighting Team Lead, AES Engineering), Andrea Greenway (Senior Interior Designer, Ste Marie Studio), and David Guenter (Senior Associate, SHAPE Architecture).

Inside, we explore:
🔹 Why lighting needs a seat at the table from day one
🔹 How coordination (or lack of it) shapes what actually gets built
🔹 The real impact of budgets, alternates, and timelines on design intent
🔹 Why trust, collaboration, and communication are what hold great projects together 🤝

💡 The biggest takeaway? The best projects aren’t the ones without constraints — they’re the ones where the team works together early and often to protect the vision.

If you’ve ever fought to keep a design on track, this one will hit home.

Lighting Inspo: Designed to Enhance ✨

Bad lighting can ruin great design. The best lighting doesn’t compete with design, it reveals it. When done right, it quietly supports the architecture, enhances materials, and brings intention to every surface and detail.

In this edition, we’re highlighting lighting that knows its role: not to steal the spotlight, but to make everything else shine.

Axis Lighting Pose: A versatile linear system with a wide range of mounting and application options, delivering soft, controlled illumination that integrates seamlessly into the architecture instead of competing with it.

Liteline Corporation Luna: A refined, low-profile downlight that produces clean, uniform light with precise control, quietly supporting interior details so the space—not the fixture—remains the focus.

Zaneen Group Inc Sillabary: A discreet architectural uplight that performs beautifully in window applications, gently grazing glass and frames to enhance transparency and depth without overpowering the design.

Even the most thoughtful spaces can fall flat under poor lighting, and the right approach ensures they’re experienced exactly as intended.

Designers: save this for your next project — and follow along as we explore lighting that transforms interiors. 💡✨

✨ Built for performance — powered by precision lighting.

The Maplewood Fire and Rescue Centre in North Vancouver sets a new standard for emergency response facilities — where every system is designed for efficiency, reliability, and the demands of 24/7 operation.

Engineered by Introba, this 42,000 sq. ft. hub brings multiple services under one roof — with lighting playing a critical role in both performance and energy efficiency.

In the firetruck bays, Cooper Lighting Solutions Metalux Steeler LED High Bays deliver powerful, uniform illumination with integrated occupancy and daylight sensors — ensuring optimal visibility when it matters most, while reducing energy use when it doesn’t.

High-use areas like locker rooms are supported by Metalux VT3 LED fixtures, built for durability and consistent output in demanding environments. Across the facility, additional solutions from Lumark, NeoRay, USAI Lighting, Kirlin Lighting, Visa Lighting, and BL Lighting, paired with WaveLinx controls, create a fully integrated, responsive lighting system.

The result is a high-performance environment where lighting works seamlessly in the background — supporting the people who can’t afford anything less than reliability. 💡🚒

For the third consecutive year, Mac's Force II is riding for cancer research — and this year, we're taking on the Tour de Victoria. 🚴‍♂️

At Mac's II Agencies, cancer has touched many of us — colleagues, friends, and family. It's what brought us to the start line in year one, kept us there in year two, and has us going all in for year three.

After two years of riding, we're setting our sights on something meaningful: $50,000 raised for BC Cancer across three years. It's within reach — and every contribution gets us closer to the finish line.

If this mission resonates with you, we'd be truly grateful for your support. No amount is too small, and every dollar goes directly toward cancer research that changes lives.
