Pretty, but invasive!

Mountain bluet is loved for its bright blue blooms, but outside the garden it can spread and compete with native plants.

🌱 Instead, grow Bluehead gilia! A native wildflower that offers a similar splash of colour while supporting local pollinators.

A similar look doesn’t always mean a similar impact.

Show and Share inspiration! What are you bringing to the meeting tonight?
Something you love, a garden surprise, a puzzling question, a happy bouquet of late spring pickings?!

This bouquet has evergreen hellebores, baptista, nepeta, artemisia, yarrow and a lovely two tone lupin (unfortunately hidden).

See you there!

🌿It's Invasive Species Action Month in BC, and this year's theme is "Do It Yourself. Stop Invasives Together." Protecting our local ecosystems starts in our own backyards and on our favorite trails.

Three ways to help stop the spread:
1️⃣Clean mud and plant debris off your shoes and gear after outdoor adventures
2️⃣Research plants before buying or planting
3️⃣Download the Report Invasives BC app to identify and report invasive plants

Learn more: bcinvasives.ca.

💚We'd also love to meet our nature protectors in the next community w**d pull event in September and October! Sign up here: https://ow.ly/ow5T50YV62M
