My name is Carl LeBlanc and I have been doing renovations as my profession for the past 35 years in several locations. I hail from Eastern Quebec, in fact on the Atlantic Coast, and I've been moving westward where I have stayed for the past 10-15 years in BC and Alberta. I have n

ow moved back to Edmonton where I have resumed my business, CBL Renovations, with my wife Francesca - the "B" in CBL standing for "Bruno", my middle name. What I am passionate about is the quality of the work CBL does from beginning to end. A Renovator often develops many skills over the years and at time, one can be involved in adventurous projects, such as this one. I did these upgrades in an old apartment in the old Quebec city, Quebec. We worked at keeping the original floor, original arch that had been taken off, fixed, removed all the old paint and back in place with a clear finish. The windows jambs and sills were also redone. The brick wall had paint that we removed.

Here is another project I did recently. That one was quite challenging because I started this project after the plumber had installed the shower pan and did the plumbing in the wall, and the drywaller had put the drywall and mudded. It was too late to restart all over! The walls were not 100% level and straight and the shower pan off level by 3/8" and to top it off, the plumber had put a framing screw at the base of the pan! Luckily, I needed to add a self leveler, Schluter Ditra heating membrane on the floor, thin set and tiles brought the floor high enough to hide the big hole the plumber had done!!!! The glass panel had a 3/8" in one corner! So, I had to improvise by adding a small ionized aluminium trim to hide the gap. Anyway, at the end of the day, Client was very happy I managed the flubs and fixed the issues. My advice; please hire professionals who have a high ethical workmanship. The shower system (walls and doors) are of Kalia, Quebec make. NOTE: I did install a Schluter membrane on the walls

For this Client, I installed 3 new prehung doors and hardware for 3 bedrooms; 2 closet barn doors which is a great way to take away these bifold doors that take up too much space and get damaged on a long run; I also solved an issue of that small closet that had no space for any type of doors. I replaced all 3 ceiling light fixtures and a fresh new paint as a final touch.

CBL stands for Carl Bruno LeBlanc, by the way. This room project was part of a 2 months house renovation project I did in Chilliwack, BC. That was 2 old messy and sort of abandoned rooms and unused. It was piled with tons of rubbish and storage shelves. The new Landlord wanted that space turned into living space. Some exterior walls were given a new insulation; the ceiling had to be dropped and leveling due to a 3" drop to 0 from a corner to opposite corner. The photos shows the rest.

Did a short project; the door of this powder room was opening to the inside and banging on the toilet! Basically, the door was in the way. There was no workable way to install a pocket door and the byfold door was also not a solution. This actually worked and client very happy.

In Langley, this little bungalow had tons of bushes and trees at the front, damaging the front of the house siding and window trims. I replaced siding, added window casing, new walkway with pavers, new paint to the house, and new stone for chimney. The chimney was made of stucco. This turned out to be thing to enhance this bungalow new look.
