The Coal Coast Community Garden was giving away planting buckets today at the Donkin and Area yard sale. We have more left to give away for free. Stop by Wild Island Farm at 111 West Street in Donkin to pick up some free buckets.

I am happy to announce our 2nd annual Community Yard Sale is this Saturday, June 27th from 10am to 1pm in the village if Donkin and the surrounding areas or Big Glace Bay, Port Caledonia, Long Beach, Schooner Pond, and the Port Morien Hwy. (0.1mm of rain expected at 9am - Please dress for the weather) Below is the link to the digital map where you can locate the 30 participating locations. This year the Donkin Royal Canadian Legion Branch #5 will be open for food and refreshments (for purchase) as will Dearns Corner Store will have their new ice cream hut open.

Another amazing concert in the village last night at the Wild Island Farm with Jocelyn Hynes Music and Sheldon Chant wowed the audience with their beautiful songs and heartwarming stories. Thank you to all those in attendance who made the concert a night to remember.

Wild Island Farm has just joined an amazing research project called Motus Audio out of the University of Windsor/Birds Canada. These two students, Natalie & Madison, have travelled across the country installing units that collect nighttime recordings of migratory birds. The data, and their research, will build a nationwide picture of bird migration and inform conservation efforts.
