Tips and Tricks: Keeping Your Hot Tube Warm
1) Make sure the insulation behind the hot tub doors is securely closed and add tape between each sheet of thermofoil to hold them together;
2) Turn off the air valves, otherwise cold air will continuously flow into the water when you are not using your hot tub;
3) A hot tub plugged into a 240 volt outlet increases the capacity of the water heater from 1 kWh to 4 kWh on 40 amps. Please note that an electrician is required;
4) The hot tub usually loses 3 to 5 degrees after about 30 minutes;
5) Depending on the year of manufacture, block the 3"" drain holes located under the hot tub. They are accessible by opening the hot tub doors (careful, don't block 1"" holes or less);
6) Finally, double the insulation by adding Roxul Rockwool, available at all good hardware stores, on three sides. It is important not to add it to the side of the pump and heater.

1) Assurez-vous que l'isolant installé derrière les portes du spa soit bien fermé et ajoutez du ruban adhésif entre chaque feuille de thermofoil pour bien les faire tenir;
2) Fermez les valves à air, sans quoi de l'air froid passera continuellement dans l'eau quand vous ne vous servez pas du spa;
3) Un spa branché sur une prise 240 volts augmente la capacité du chauffe-eau de 1 kWh à 4 kWh sur 40 ampères. Attention, un électricien est requis;
4) Le spa perd généralement entre 3 et 5 degrés après environ 30 minutes;
5) Selon l'année de fabrication, bloquez les trous d’égouttement de 3 pouces situés sous le spa. Ils sont accessibles en ouvrant les portes du spa (attention, il ne faut pas bloquer les trous de diamètre d'un pouce ou moins);
6) Finalement, doublez l'isolant en ajoutant sur trois cotés du Roxul Rockwool, disponible dans toutes les bonnes quincailleries. Il est important de ne pas en ajouter sur le côté de la pompe et du chauffe-eau.
