Motion activated switches are commonly used in closets and pantries, turning the light on when there is activity and automatically shutting it off after a set period of time.
Consider some other useful places in your home. How about your back entry? It's nice to have the lights automatically come on when you walk in with arms loaded with grocery bags. How about a dark stairway or hallway in your home? Or in your bathroom... install a motion activated dimmer, and leave it at a low setting for those middle of the night visits. A double tap will bring it to full brightness, and a single tap will turn it off if you don't want to wait until it goes off by itself.
We have many motion switches in our home. So many in fact, that sometimes I (Charmaine) walk into a regularly switched room and wonder why the light isn't coming on! But they aren't good for rooms where your activity doesn't produce much motion. If I haven't moved for a long time while sewing in my laundry room, I'm sometimes plunged into darkness! However, nothing that a wave of my arm won't fix! LOL!
