The growth of mushrooms or other fungi (https://anchortreeservice.ca/diseases-found-in-garry-oaks-a-comprehensive-guide-for-homeowners/), such as those commonly found at the base of Victoria’s native Garry Oaks, can indicate a tree may be dead or in decline. This could be symptomatic of broader issues, similar to diseases found in Garry Oaks, which require professional attention.

Visible Decay
Soft, crumbly wood or hollow areas in the trunk or branches signify a dead or dying tree.

Insect Infestation
Excessive presence of pests like wood borers or carpenter ants (https://anchortreeservice.ca/how-can-i-prevent-diseases-and-pests-from-harming-my-trees/) can weaken the tree, potentially leading to its demise. Learn more about how you can prevent these and other harmful pests from damaging your trees.

Leaning Or Uprooted Trees
Significant leaning or uprooting may indicate structural instability, which could be a sign that the tree is dead or dying.

🌲 Why Proper Tree Care Matters

Healthy, well-maintained trees are an important part of a safe and beautiful property. Regular pruning and professional tree care can help prevent falling branches, reduce hazards, improve tree health, and protect your home and surrounding structures.

When a tree becomes damaged, diseased, unstable, or simply poses a safety risk, **professional removal may be the safest solution**. Proper removal helps protect your family, property, and neighbouring trees while minimizing the risk of costly damage.

At Tallack Arbor Care, we believe in doing the job safely, responsibly, and with the health of your property in mind. From pruning and maintenance to hazardous tree removal and firewood, we're here to help keep your trees—and your property—safe.

🌲 **Your trees deserve proper care. Your property deserves peace of mind.**
