💡 𝐅𝐢𝐱 𝐢𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲!

🚨 Uh-oh! Here’s a septic field in need of repair.

👉 The issue? The chambers were plugged with biomat.

🔎 What is biomat? Biomat forms as effluent breaks down in the field. A healthy amount is completely normal! But when a system is built incorrectly, excessive biomat can build up — leading to clogs and system failure.

✅ The Solution: This can be repaired without ripping out the entire field. Adding some stone and filter fabric ensures the field will work for many years.

Before designing and building a septic system, the first step is testing soil samples!

📸 Pictured here is a test pit we dug to analyze the soil. We take samples from different horizons and send them off for testing. The orange handles you see mark different 𝐬𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐬—layers that vary by colour, texture, and organic content.

✨ Wrapping up our month of employee introductions with the one and only 𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐛!

👷‍♂️ On site, Dallas runs the skid steer and is our go-to “𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙣”!
👀 He keeps his eyes on the ground while Tim digs with the backhoe and lays the pipework for fields and tanks. 💪 He’s also the guy who takes on the job no one else volunteers for—shovelling dirt and rocks (any takers? 😅).
📏 With his natural eye for detail, Dallas has become a pro at using the laser level, making sure trenches are graded perfectly every time!

⚾ Off the job site, Dallas is all about 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥! After years of playing, he joined a slow-pitch league in Medicine Hat this year—his team won the championship 🏆 and they’re already chasing another one next season.

He’s built a fantastic community at 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤 and even participated in a podcast some young adults put together.

When he isn’t working, playing ball, or hanging out with friends, you can find him exploring Alberta 🏔️—most recently at 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐎𝐧-𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 🌄

We are thankful to have such a competent young man on our team!

✨ Our second employee spotlight of the month is here! ✨

Meet Joanne Teichrob – administrator, bookkeeper, and the other half of Cypress Septic Solutions!

You might not see Joanne out on job sites or hear her voice on the phone, but behind the scenes, she’s the one keeping everything running smoothly. From tracking invoices to handling accounting, she ensures every detail is accurate and processed efficiently.

Joanne completed her bookkeeping course in 2019 and has worn many hats over the years — office administrator, bookkeeper, and even medical transcriptionist. She’s also fondly referred to herself as a “domestic engineer”, dedicated to caring for her home and family.

A natural hostess, Joanne loves gathering people around her table for good food and conversation. Her greatest joy? Her grandbabies — she cherishes every moment she gets to spend with them.

It’s safe to say, without Joanne, Cypress Septic Solutions wouldn’t run like the well-oiled machine it is today!

Meet the owner and operator of Cypress Septic Solutions – Tim Teichrob! 👷‍♂️🚜

Tim is a certified septic system specialist and your go-to expert for all things septic. 💧 He takes the time to answer your questions, explain the work that needs to be done, and ensures you understand the process from start to finish. ✅

Before launching Cypress Septic Solutions, Tim built an impressive resume – running a backhoe company 🚧, working as an equipment manager ⚙️, heavy-duty mechanic 🔧, and farmer 🌾.

Originally from a dairy farm in Chilliwack, BC 🐄, Tim has a deep appreciation for hard work and rural life. In his spare time, you’ll find him working on the farm or crafting custom fishing rods 🎣.

We had the opportunity to service the septic system at the historic ManyBerries Railway Station recently. 🚛🛠️

Originally built in 1917, the station remained in operation until 1980. Since then, it has served various purposes — from an employee bunkhouse to a charming bed and breakfast. With the tracks now removed, the building stands as a proud reminder of Alberta’s rail history.

The property was recently purchased, and we’re excited to see what the future holds for this unique and storied site. We’re grateful to the new owner for the chance to contribute to the continued care and preservation of such a meaningful piece of local history.

Thank you for letting us be a part of it — even in a small (but essential!) way.
