Bathroom appliance garages.

Appliance garages in the kitchen took the design world by storm, and changed the way we worked and lived. It allowed unsightly utensils and electronics to be conveniently close at hand, yet hidden from view for slick look of the clean minimalism.

So in the room where hair dryers, electric toothbrushes, rechargeable shavers and more are used daily, there's every reason to be building appliance garages into the bathroom.

And what's better than one appliance garage in your ensuite? Two.

Did you know: Stucco ...

- is traditionally a Portland cement and lime mixture, but modern stuccos have synthetic additives making it lighter and more flexible

- is highly resistant to fire, bad weather, insects, and rot

- can be tinted nearly any colour imaginable, and painted over to change it up

- can have different finishes from smooth to various textures, depending on how it's applied

- is one of the longest-lasting siding materials with a lifespan of 50 - 100 years

Before and After: Designer shower.

Work on this incredible ensuite has taken shape quickly, and the custom shower's been one of the biggest transformations.

Designed to fit between the twin vanities and dressing space, this shower was framed to spec to include a bench on the far side, and a nook for soaps and products. Next, the orange Schluter system was installed, one of the best-reputed waterproofing membranes for tiled showers. Finally, a polished, professional installation of these large-format tiles with lovely deep veining brings the wow, with chrome fixtures, and hardware on the swinging glass door as the finished touches.
