Building this one-of-a-kind home was a one-of-a-kind experience!

Some features include:

• Apart from the roof, the entire house was built using ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) - this provides a significant increase in durability and energy efficiency

• Corten steel (“weathered steel”) - when exposed to the elements, this steel develops a rusted appearance in just a few months. This is featured on the garage overhead doors and down the centre of the house

• Corner windows that wrap right around the corners of the house

• Geothermal heating & cooling system - this system helps to significantly increase energy efficiency and decrease the costs to heat and cool your home

How geothermal heating and cooling works:
•This house has 6 x 200’ wells and an underground pipe system
• The pipe system pushes water through and uses the relatively constant temperature of the earth to heat in the winter and cool in the summer

This house has two entrances into the kitchen area. In this kitchen reno, the client wanted the option to close off one or the other, or leave them both open. To make this possible, we had an extra long barn door track made to hold this beautiful glass barn door. The door is a custom glass panel set inside a custom wood perimeter. If you look in the background, you will notice a matching glass panel built into the wall!
