A landmark day for Alberta, Canada, and Indigenous-led energy development.

Today, the Governments of Alberta and Canada finalized key elements of the Alberta-Canada Energy MOU — advancing a new Indigenous co-owned west coast oil pipeline, with construction targeted as early as September 1, 2027.

Saa Dene Group has long worked to advance responsible energy development through meaningful Indigenous partnership. This approach is reflected in today's announcement.

From today's release:

"I'm encouraged to see the governments of Alberta and Canada take this next step toward advancing a new Indigenous co-owned pipeline to the west coast. This project would provide significant economic benefits and long-term prosperity for First Nations. It is critical that governments continue to engage and work in meaningful partnership with First Nations as this work moves forward."— Jim Boucher, former Chief of Fort McKay First Nation and co-founder, Saa Dene Group

That vision is moving from principle to project. Chief Jim Boucher, co-founder and Chairman of Saa Dene Group, sits on the Alberta Premier's West Coast Oil Pipeline Technical Advisory Group — the body shaping the very project announced today — and serves on the board of the Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation (AIOC). Alongside him, Jauvonne Kitto, co-founder and CEO of Saa Dene Group, has been integral to the leadership and strategy that has placed Indigenous economic participation at the centre of Alberta's energy story — drawing on more than 25 years of executive experience in First Nations governance, corporate participation, and rights-based negotiation across major Canadian energy and infrastructure projects.

Since 2022, FourQuest Energy has been honoured to walk alongside Chief Boucher, Jauvonne, and the Saa Dene Group as Saa Dene FourQuest LP — a partnership built on relationship building, community investment, employment and training, and Indigenous business development.

Conventional water flushing removes the obvious. Hydro-milling removes everything else.

Newly installed process piping contains welding slag, mill scale, loose rust, mineral sediment, and fabrication byproducts that conventional methods simply can't fully address. Left behind, these contaminants damage downstream equipment, compromise system integrity, and create costly disruptions during plant operation.

FourQuest Energy's hydro-milling service (also known as retro-jetting or hydro-jetting) uses self-propelled, high-pressure nozzles operating between 5,000 and 40,000 psi to remove both large and fine debris from all pipe surfaces. The system navigates 90° elbows and directional changes, covers diameters from 2" to 30"+, and achieves cleaning spreads up to 1,250 ft. horizontal and 350 ft. vertical.
