There is no place like home sweet home.
Looking out my bedroom every Saturday morning at my newly white-painted corral fence. Dew will evaporate by nine am then the grass will be dry and I will put the garbage in the staging area. Sometimes the sun's rays strike the fence you will be blinded by strong rays.
Next, I spent my time watering and weeding the garden maybe mowing the grass and trimming the edges of my desert of a yard.
I get great pleasure from all the work which I have done in the yard. I brought the yard from a barren wasteland to long grass with just a few weeds. Pleasure was taken in planting many trees such as the common birch on the east side, a few pine trees along the west side, and a few rose and other shrubbery along the north side.
Blinking my eyes and taking another look. Most of the shrubbery on the north side is dead along with the birch tree. The pine trees are doing great but take a closer look at the fence.
A few of the cross planks have fallen to the ground. I see a shoestring holding up another rail with no paint, yes you heard me right. As I scan the rest of the fencing I see very little paint and parts leaning and more rot and more damage. I realize that the fence was built in 1965 and only recall painting the fence once.
Yes, when the fence was constructed security was not an issue. Now, the corral fence does not prevent animals from running under the fence and has too much damage. I am now worried that if a hawk landed on the fence the whole fence might fall over so would definitely not stop an intruder.
Now, I am getting worried about the condition of the fence, and my personal safety.
I came up with a five-step process to resolve the fence issue that I have used before. To reduce my anxiety a time is set for this task from start to finish. It could take ten seconds to a few hours to search for information then after seven days make a decision, or sooner.
"Stop" Find a quiet place to think about the fence problem.
"Think" Clear my mind and write down my thoughts of what contractor I am seeking. Calling contractors to find out what the cost of a fence replacement.
"Evaluate" Calling contractors I found they wanted to know the wood type, length, style, soil type, and height of the fence.
"Act" Recieve a costing received from the contractor and make a decision.
"Review, Not Happy, Happy" Start the process all over with a different fence type, or accept the offer.
