Meet Natalie — our 2026 Calgary Roof Giveaway winner. 💛
In the late '90s, Natalie travelled the world as one of Canada's top female snowboard racers. In 2019, she was diagnosed with breast cancer — and later learned it was stage 4 and incurable, with two little ones at home, ages 3 and 5.
What she did next tells you everything about her.
When her daughter was teased at school about her mom's bald head, Natalie asked the principal if she could speak at their Terry Fox Run. That one conversation became a family mission — her kids have now raised over $70,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. She's spent years advocating for earlier cancer screening and better detection for women with dense breast tissue, all while enduring treatment, surgeries, and daily pain.
She was nominated by a friend who wrote: "I wish I could nominate Natalie for the guarantee to watch her kids grow up… but for now I will settle for nominating my strong, courageous, and deserving friend."
