Daylight saving time is changing in Alberta.
Starting in November 2026, Alberta will no longer switch back to Mountain Standard Time. Clocks will stay on permanent Alberta Time year-round.
For most people, that means no more clock changes to worry about.
For some buildings, however, it may affect automatic doors that lock or unlock on a schedule.
If your automatic doors are connected to access control, standalone timers, timed locking systems, electrified hardware, or building automation, it’s worth confirming the schedule before November 2026.
Standalone automatic doors, or doors that are locked and unlocked manually, likely have nothing to worry about.
