The City of Whitehorse's Operations Building, a project KERR was proud to be part of, houses six departments: Engineering, Human Resources, Operations, Safety Function, Transit, and Water and Waste.

The facility was constructed to 84% above National Energy Code of Canada building requirements and features 2 double charging stations for electric vehicles, gender neutral bathrooms and 1,050 solar modules on the roof.

It's always rewarding to look back at where a project started and see where it ended up.

The Whitecourt Culture & Events Centre is now complete, and seeing the finished space makes all the planning, coordination, and hard work worth it. Despite the challenges along the way, our crew made it all worthwhile. As foreman Don put it, the teamwork on this site created one of the best job site cultures he's seen in a long time, and that's something we're proud of.

Ever notice how some rooms just feel loud, even when no one's talking?

That's reverberation, and it's one of the most overlooked factors in how a space actually performs. Our acoustic fins are engineered to absorb and diffuse sound while adding real architectural interest overhead, so a ceiling stops being an afterthought and starts being part of the design.

Whether it's a classroom trying to hold a student's attention or an open office trying to hold a conversation, the difference is immediate. Less noise, more clarity, and a space that finally sounds as good as it looks.

This is what happens when acoustics and design stop being separate conversations.
