Not all grass is created equal and Canada Bluegrass is a perfect example.

You’ll notice in this video that it grows in a more patchy, uneven pattern compared to some of the other grass types I’ve been testing. That’s not a flaw, it’s actually how this grass naturally establishes itself.

Canada Bluegrass is known for being extremely tough and adaptable, especially in poor soils, compacted areas, and harsh conditions. It sacrifices that thick, carpet-like look in exchange for survival and resilience.

That’s why it’s not typically used for that “perfect lawn” appearance but it does have its place when durability matters most.

Understanding the difference is key to building the right lawn for your property.
