Oh, and that massive chunk of concrete you see? Not part of the original plan — turns out it's an old porch foundation we uncovered! Just one of those surprises that come with the job. Nothing we can't tackle! 💪

Our final project of 2025 was not without its challenges. To install the 8,500-gallon cistern, we coordinated with Hydro for a full disconnect before the crane could swing it into place. Unfortunately, the crane broke down, and no replacement was available for 24 hours. This delay meant the excavation had to stay open, requiring additional shoring for safety. By the next morning, we found 12 inches of water in the excavation, which we tackled with two pumps to dewater the site. Despite the setbacks, we completed backfilling and achieved the final grade on December 21. .na

Another day, another cistern in place! This one came with its challenges, especially navigating the low Hydro wires. Big thanks to Moodie Concrete for providing the tank and sending out an exceptional boom operator to handle the lift like a pro!

We had some battles with the weather on this job in Fort Erie, but managed to get the foundation excavated and stone graded before our concrete contractor came to pour. It's all about dedication and commitment to getting it done! Hahn Builders Wassenaar Contracting
