Saving $$ for a property or down payment???
Don't fall into the trap of expensive holiday spending!
Holidays are meant to enjoy family, reflect on the year and acts of kindness to the ones we love ❤️
Here are my tips to manage the holidays:
1) Get creative! Think DIY... Maybe you knit or make bath booms or preserves or wine or delicious popcorn or fudge or cookies. Those all make great gifts! Usable and consumable gifts 😉 to show your love and appreciation.
2) Set Expectations for Yourself! Your gifts do not need to price match those from others, it truly is the thought that counts. DIY gifts are intangible anyways 😍
3) Make a Plan! to not go over board. For my kids, I like to do Something to Wear, Something to Read, Something you want, Something you need. Yes, you can buy consignment to gift! Yes, you can wrap up a box of school snacks as we know our children NEED to eat!
4) Draw names! This is great for older families. Everyone's name goes in a hat and each person will buy (or MAKE) one gift.
5) Shop Sales! Sit down with your local flyers and set your meal plans around sales.
6) Have fun! Take a walk or drive to see the lights, watch a movie in your jammies, go slidding ❄Come on SNOW!❄️, make your own pizza night, pot luck dinner with friends and family.
My wish to you is that the holidays full you up! not drain you..
