Tulips! They get tired and droopy. Especially if they are warm. So this trick will work a couple times to prolong their life:
Wrap them up to support them. Give the stems a fresh cut and place them in water, standing up, in the fridge. After a few hours they will be rigid again and good for a few more days.

Some of my favorite tulips are blooming now. Peptalk, silk road and mount tacoma are outstanding early doubles. After these the fringes and parrots will come along.

What makes you happy? Probably not a big pile of compost, but I am doing my happy dance!! And the flowers will be too.
A big thanks to our local Keel Construction for great, fast service and Crane Mountain Landfill for consistantly great compost.
No stopping the planting now!
